Ethiopian Airlines chooses Bangui to launch its new African hub

Ethiopian Airlines has chosen Bangui – the capital of Central Africa – for the installation of its new hub in Africa. This is the result of the last meeting between a delegation of the Ethiopian national company and the President of the Republic of Central Africa, which took place on February 16. The airline hopes to make the capital of this country one of its strong bases to conquer the countries of sub-Saharan Africa.

The capital of the Central African Republic should allow the group to strengthen its service to several sub-Saharan countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.

Increased service to Bangui

During the meeting that was organized on the occasion of the 38th General Assembly of the African Union that took place in Addis Ababa, representatives of Ethiopian Airlines also announced that Bangui-M’Poko airport will benefit from additional frequencies from Addis Ababa Bole (up to per week), representing a 40% increase in the number of rotations on this route that has already been operational for several years.
