Ethiopian Airlines is preparing to launch a new service between Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi. The inaugural flight is scheduled for July 15 of this year.
This service is the result of a joint venture between the Ethiopian airline and Etihad Airways, the second largest carrier in the UAE after Emirates.
The daily non-stop service between Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) and Zayed International Airport (AUH) will be operated by Boeing 777 and A350-1000 aircraft.
Ethiopian Airlines is strengthening its growth in the United Arab Emirates by offering more options to connect the country’s main tourist and business cities such as Adu Dhabi and Dubai, the company said in a statement.
Abu Dhabi is an international city and one of the most important financial and cultural centers in the Middle East. “With one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, the city is experiencing a growing demand for connections to more destinations in the United States and around the world,” said Mesfin Tasew, President and CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, who emphasized that this new route is possible thanks to the combined network with Etihad Airways.
For its part, building on its long-standing partnership with the Ethiopian airline, Etihad Airways has planned a flight schedule to Ethiopia.
